We Are Definitely Setting A World Record Tomorrow

Tomorrow, something big is going down in Portland (again).

Over the last month, you’ve probably seen me blowing the trumpet for our latest event, The Great Namaste—the world’s longest yoga chain. Even Oregon Live, the state’s biggest news source, has covered it twice.

After setting a world record on the Willamette River last year, my collaborators at WDS and I decided to make a tradition of it. Twice is a tradition, right?

The record lives in India now with 696 people. But that will be changing tomorrow. With over 900 set to join us tomorrow morning at Pioneer Courthouse Square, the record is all but in our hands, and there are just a few tickets left to participate.

If you’re in Portland and coming out tomorrow, I can’t wait to see you. If you’re in Portland, but you aren’t coming out… what the heck are you thinking? Grab one of the few remaining tickets!

UPDATE 10:05 AM: All tickets are now sold out! You can still come watch in the morning and, if there’s space after everyone has checked in, we may open a few final spots.

If you’re not in Portland—I know that’s the majority of you in our worldwide audience—we’ll miss you, but you’ve not been left out! This adventure is for the whole community, and we’ll consider you here in spirit. But now that record-breaking is officially one of our summer traditions, plan ahead! We’ll plan to break another fun record next year. Portland is gorgeous in the summer; make a vacation out of it.

Whether you’ll be joining us or not, I hope you’ll be rooting for our success. A win for us is a win for the worldwide Riskologist community.

And, of course, a full report showcasing the attempt and detailing the risks and psychological factors that lead to our success (or failure, but hopefully not…) will follow shortly after, so watch this space.

Here’s a video from last year’s record attempt:
