Three Things You Need to Know Right Now (TBG Mini-Launch, Portland Meet Up, & a New Business Project)

Hello, friends, from my hometown of Portland, OR. If you’re in the U.S., happy Fourth of July—the holiday where we celebrate our country’s independence by blowing up a small piece of it.

And if you aren’t in The U.S., happy Fourth of July anyway, because every day’s a good excuse to celebrate. Enjoy your Wednesday.

At this time last year, I was learning a pretty important lesson about independence from a new friend, Duncan.

It’s a busy week here as I work with a small team of incredible people to put the finishing touches on The World Domination Summit taking place in a few days right here in my great city.

Haven’t heard of WDS? I don’t talk about it much because the tickets sell out incredibly fast, and I always forget to mention it until it’s too late. But, it’s one of the greatest forces for good in my life, and I’m grateful to be a part of the planning team that gets to put it together each year.

With all the commotion, this is a short update about what’s going on around Riskology.co Way that you might be interested in.

Specifically, three things.

1. The Bootstrapper Guild registration is open for a few more hours.

Just in case you aren’t on the updates list, and depending on when you read this, my flagship product, The Bootstrapper Guild—a course for do-it-yourself entrepreneurs is open for enrollment until this morning at 9:00 AM PST.

We’ve brought in a new, small group of ambitious micro-business builders about once a month to get started on their first projects, and it’s time to do it again. If you’re interested and you don’t want to wait until next month or later to get in, give it a test drive now for just $1.

All the details are on the site.

If you’re late, don’t get too bummed. Just sign up on the priority notification list, and we’ll make sure you hear about it early next time.

2. Come to our meet up in Portland on Monday!

I swear, one of these days I’ll get it together enough to start scheduling meet ups in other cities, but for now, we’re going to have another one here in Portland!

Here are the details:

When: Monday, July 9th at 7:00 PM
Where: The Lucky Lab Beer Hall — 1945 NW Quimby St., Portland, OR 97209
Why: Because we spend too much time on the Internet. Come have some face-time with other riskologists just like you.

–>Register here so I know you’re coming.

3. Did I mention I’m starting a coffee company?

I’ve been sitting around for a while trying to figure out how to talk about this here at Riskology.co and make it fit perfectly and not leave everyone sitting and scratching their heads asking, “What the hell is he talking about?”

But I haven’t figured out how to do it, so I’m just saying it:

I’m starting a coffee subscription service! Someone throw confetti!

I’ll have a lot more to share about this in the future. It’ll be fun to document as it either 1) soars to Fortune 500 status, or 2) crashes and burns, leaving me covered in a plume of Arabica-scented smoke.

Here’s what I can say about it for now:

  • It’s called BrewPony
  • I’m starting it with a friend, and this is my first ever joint venture (hilarious stories to come, I’m sure).
  • We’ll deliver amazing coffee right to your doorstep. Never put on pants for that morning cup again!

I’m excited because this will be my first foray into a real product-based business—something you can actually put your hands on.

There’s a whole story behind how this project came about, and that will come later (code for: I need more time to make one up that sounds nice).

Right now, though, we need your help figuring out what to focus on as we start this thing up. If you’re a coffee drinker in the U.S. (sorry to all my international friends—we’ll get to you eventually!), can you spare two minutes to take this survey about your coffee drinking habits?

The survey is now closed. Thanks to everyone who responded!

That’s all for now, fellow riskologists. Wherever you happen to be, make the most of your day. And if you happen to be in Portland, then what the heck are you waiting for?

Come hang out with me.
