The Gift Only You Can Give – Merry Christmas from Riskology.co

Greetings everyone, from the mobile Riskology Lab, currently stationed in the small town of Rainier, Oregon, where I’m spending the day with my family. We’ll talk. We’ll eat. We’ll talk some more. Then, we’ll probably eat some more.

If it seemed like anything was missing from that sequence, well, you’re right – we don’t do presents. There aren’t any kids left to spoil and we all decided a few years ago that there are many more people out there that could use our kindness today. So, instead of gifts, we all make donations to everyone’s favorite charities.

It’s not that I have anything against presents – presents are great! – we all just kind of agreed that if we wanted something, we’re all capable of getting it for ourselves. Besides, in the long run, the act of giving tends to be a lot more rewarding than receiving, especially when you know that the gift you’re giving is really improving someone’s life.

This morning, millions of people all over the world will wake up wondering what’s waiting for them under the Christmas tree. If that’s you, that’s totally fine; you’ve earned it! However, I’d like to challenge you, today, to also give some thought to what you can give – not just presents or donations to charity – but the gift that you have inside you that the world needs to receive.

Every single person has this gift, but not everyone will put it to use, and that’s a darn shame because the world is desperately (but patiently) waiting for it.

Wherever you are today, whether or not you celebrate Christmas, I hope you’re surrounded by those you love and who love you. Most of all, I hope you’re putting your gift to use and changing people’s lives.

Merry Christmas,
