Read This if You Use Google Reader

Fellow Riskologist,

This message is urgent and important if (and only if), you use the RSS service, Google Reader, to keep up to date with Riskology.co.

If that’s not you, feel free to go back to doing whatever awesome thing you were up to just a moment ago. We’ll be back to our regularly scheduled programming on Monday.

Google Reader is Shutting Down on July 1.

In case you haven’t heard the news, Google has decided to “sunset” (read: discontinue) their RSS reader service.

That means that on the first of July, Reader will close and you will stop receiving updates from all websites that you have connected to your Reader account.

On July 1, you will no longer receive updates from Riskology.co.

At my last count, there are several thousand of you out there reading this via Reader now.

If you enjoy reading Riskology.co every week—and I hope you do—here are the two best ways to continue receiving updates:

1. Switch to a different RSS reader.

If you’d like to continue to receive updates from Riskology.co via RSS, you can simply open an account with a new RSS application. I’m using Feedly, and I find it to be a good, free alternate to Google Reader. They even have a script to help you seamlessly switch to their service.

Important: Be sure to add http://feeds.feedburner.com/advancedriskology to your new RSS application to continue receiving updates from AR.

Before July 1, you can also use Google Takeout to download all of your Reader data. This will allow you to easily move your current RSS subscriptions to a new service at your convenience.

2. Switch to receiving my email newsletter.

If you didn’t know, I also offer completely free updates from Riskology.co via email that many thousands already subscribe to. You’ll get every article right in your inbox along with my exclusive email series, 5 Risks That Made History, designed to help you take bigger and better risks in life.

AR email subscribers also receive occasional updates not published on the blog, as well special offers and pricing on products I create or promote.

Signing up for email updates is incredibly easy.
