Join Me For A 7-Continents Party In Portland!

Right around this time four years ago, I was sitting on a couch—recently fired from my job—trying to figure out what to do with my life. That’s when a friend called and invited me to run a marathon with him. I had just a few weeks to train.

It was a crazy idea, but I said yes. What came after that was even crazier: the challenge to run a marathon on every continent, something I thought less than 1% of the world would ever attempt.

Last week, I returned from a expedition cruise to Antarctica where I ran my final of seven marathons on a ship anchored in Wilhelmina Bay on the Antarctic Peninsula. Mission accomplished!

I have a lot to say about this strange goal and how pursuing it has changed my life. More on that with a fun recap of the recent expedition to Antarctica later this week.

Today, though, I want to invite you to a party.

If you’re in or around Portland, I’d love it if you joined me in celebrating the end of my 4-year mission to run a marathon on every continent. Here are the details:

This is a party for everyone who’s supported me in some way on this adventure. Having you along for the journey has been truly rewarding. The Jade Lounge is a fun little bar, we’ve got the whole place to ourselves, and there will be some appetizers. Come have a celebratory drink with me!

If you want to come, just send me a note with the subject “I’ll be there” so I can give the venue an estimate of how many Smart Riskologists to expect.
